Sleep impacts all of our hormones and neurochemistry, including those that affect our mood, appetite, cognition, and ability to make decisions, among many other things. It is fundamental to our health.
The good news is that the diet that helps with symptoms of menopause also helps to reduce your risk of diseases such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Diabetes and other chronic diseases. This diet will help not only you, but your whole family.
The transition to menopause – perimenopause – can begin as much as 10 years before menopause, though you may only notice symptoms as you get closer to menopause – about two years prior on average. About 8 in every 10 women will experience menopause symptoms for some time before and after their periods stop. Each person may experience different symptoms at different levels of intensity and for different lengths of time.
Menopause is not a diagnosis. It is a normal phase of life for all women. And if we can’t talk about menopause openly (and perhaps with a sense of humor!), then how can we get the right information and the right support to make this change something to embrace rather than to hide from.
